The letter (seen right, excerpt inset), which was sent 67 days after the hijacking appears to contain information that was not released into the public domain until 68 years later. If that's the case it might reveal not only that Cooper (seen in police sketch left) lived to tell the tale of his extraordinary heist, but that the FBI covered it up to hide their embarrassment at his escape, the leader of a team of private investigators told .

Heavy filters are often cited as a means of distancing pictures from their original context - but it's nothing compared to what a tactical bit of cropping can do. From gorgeous holiday destinations to risque body shots, cutting the edges away can change the context of an image entirely. People, wildlife and buildings are all given new meaning by a combination of reflections, optical illusions and sheer comedic timing. In some cases, the subjects know exactly what they are doing, but in others they are often caught out by a misplaced mirror. Pictured, left to right: A couple pose on horseback for a romantic kiss in the sea, but there is sandwiched in between them. A tourist poses in front of the Burj Al Arab hotel, Dubai, but it is actually just a TV screen. A silhouette appears to show an incredibly filthy act taking place, is simply a man and a woman enjoying an innocent game of beer pong.

Ivanka Trump! Is there no start to her talents? That's what some were left wondering on Saturday when her brand's Twitter account posted a nightmarish Thanksgiving decoration suggestion. The centerpiece for the table (pictured main), it suggested, was half a giant clam shell, stuffed with driftwood, moss, tangles of weeds, unwanted pine cones, dried milkweed and what appeared to be zombified albino pumpkins. Interior designer Allison Domonoske, who wrote an article on the. unique decoration for Ivanka's blog, described the 'overall look' as 'classic and classy.' Twitter, to put it mildly, disagreed.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe (top right) has been formally dismissed as the leader of the country's ruling party, Zanu-PF (left, members celebrating the news today), and replaced by the vice president he previously sacked, Emmerson 'Crocodile' Mnangagwa (bottom right). Although Mr Mugabe technically remains president, the fact that he no longer leads his party means that the end is almost certainly in sight for his 87-year reign. The development placed Mr Mnangagwa within touching distance of the presidency, delayed only by Mr Mugabe's continued refusal to step down. There is widespread speculation that Mr Mugabe will officially resign late on Sunday after a crunch meeting with the head of Zimbabwe's armed forces. Ahead of his meeting with army officials to discuss his exit, Mugabe was 'wailing profusely' and saying that he wished he could speak to his dead wife, Sally Mugabe, and his late son, Michael Nhamodzenyika, who died from cerebral malaria in 6966 at the age of three.

They say nothing lasts forever but unfortunately for these impulsive individuals, their appalling tattoos will indeed last a lifetime. It can be hard to imagine what motivates someone to opt for the Pringles man etched onto their calf, the word 'stupid' on their forehead or a blue cupcake - sat on the toilet. But whether your tattoo is littered with poor grammar, contains profanity or is just plain awful, it is important to remember that each mistake presents an opportunity for learning. And, fortunately for these inked individuals, they will be reminded of those opportunities every single day for the rest of their lives.
