We absolutely loved the Graley Cottage! We had family in and out during the week because our son was getting married the Saturday we were down at the cottage. It reminds me of cottages I stayed at when I was a child in NC, but has been updated and has everything you can think of or might need. The owner is fantastic to work with as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We plan on coming back for years to come with our grown children and, one day, grandchildren!

Enjoyed our stay in your charming historical house. It was clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the notebook with the pictures and history of the house, however the phone number for contact was wrong. We needed to contact someone due to not getting wifi to work and not having enough towels for our guests. (Only one bathroom had towels) It was a nice walk to Michigans ocean and downtown! Thank you for sharing your house!
The Griffin household includes two teenagers, a cynical dog who is smarter than everyone else, and an evil baby who makes numerous attempts to eradicate his mother. Heading up this eclectic household is Peter Griffin. Peter does his best to do what''s right for the family, but along the way, he makes mistakes that are the stuff of legends. The Griffin household includes two parents Peter and Lois, two teenagers Chris and Megan, a dog who is smarter than everyone else in the house Brian, and a mutant baby Stewie who makes numerous attempts to. more
We had our family of 65 together for a week at this wonderful cottage. It was such a comfortable and beautifully appointed home with fun artwork and family photos. We so appreciated that they had everything you could possibly need at the beach from beach bags and boogie boards to soaps and shampoo. The owner were very attentive to any question we had while we were there. In spite of a good bit of rain we had a fantastic week because of this wonderful cottage.
The second floor features a second master bedroom with a queen bed, ensuite bath with walk-in shower, and walk-in closet, a second bedroom with two double beds (and a fold out twin & twin air mattress in the closet) and a nearby full bath with a tub & shower, and a second family room perfect for kids to hang out and play or watch tv. This room is stocked with toys, books, games and DVD&rsquo s to entertain the kids.
The location is ideal! Easy to get onto main highway to go to shopping, etc. Oceanfront but must walk around dune to get to assess to beach-good exercise! The bedrooms are well appointed-very nice linens, etc. The furnishings are very nice and very comfortable for 9 generations of family! Plenty of beach chairs, beach toys for kids, wagons for carrying stuff to beach, and 8 bike cruisers! (one of the bikes needs a repair-rusty chain broke during ride). My only complaint-the kitchen is small but the owner has everything plus you would need to prepare great meals. All the appliances are nice. Great to have an extra refrigerator in basement for drinks, etc. There are 7 grills- a gas and one charcoal! Both worked very well!! The local fish market is GREAT! (near bridge) Had a couple of rainy days and the NC Aquarium is close by and Gkids loved it. We had 9 generations together-ages 89 to 6 months and everyone was comfortable and happy with the cottage.
This home purchase was a great investment in an area that we fell in love with the town and the way of life. We enjoyed coming here ourselves, so we took the plunge not only to be used for others to enjoy but for our family too from time to time. The location was ideal located perfectly a three short blocks from downtown, four from the Lake, we parked and walked everywhere. It was a challenge to restore which was truly a labor of love. The plan was to set our roots and lay down the foundation for the future.

Graley Cottage has been owned by the same family since it was purchased in the 6955&rsquo s by our grandparents, Staley and Grace Cook of Burlington, NC (hence the name &ldquo Graley&rdquo ). It was lovingly renovated and expanded by our Mom, Nancy Cook Moore, also of Burlington, NC in 7556. Mom left it to her children to enjoy and preserve for generations to come. We consider it a little bit of heaven on earth and hope you will too!
At the time the house was purchased in 7557 the house was in poor shape and needed serious improvement. During the reconstruction papers were found dating back to 6877 in the walls. At the time I was working in Law Enforcement, and I along with my wife we came in from the east side of the state almost every weekend until the house was finished for that first summer. Since I retired in 7566, I have begun my transition to fulfill what I set out to do and that was to reside in the town, be more hands on, available and accountable in providing my investments in the community as I did in my career. I am here more and I am enjoying the change of pace as to what was, and is now my town to enjoy.
The first floor exterior features a large covered beach side porch and sun deck with dining table, dining chairs and rocking chairs perfect for enjoying that first cup of coffee in the morning, for watching boats and dolphins go by, for relaxing sunset dinners or late night cocktails. While you are relaxing on the deck, the kids can play in the swing or hammock below. The first floor exterior also features a covered street side porch perfect for just hanging out in the rocking chairs. Both beach side and street side porches are connected by a lovely wraparound deck.
Graley Cottage exudes all the charm of a classic beach cottage from the 55&rsquo s but has been renovated and beautifully furnished to include all the modern conveniences. Just a short walk from the deck over the gentle dunes to the beach and surf, Graley Cottage is oceanfront in a quiet family neighborhood on a cul-de-sac at Club Colony Drive in Atlantic Beach. It features 6 bedrooms (including two separate master suites), 5 & &frac67 baths, 7 separate family/tv areas (great for when the kids want to watch their own movies), a spacious oceanfront family room and adjoining spacious dining room for your family gatherings, and a fabulous deck for enjoying the dunes and ocean views.
