EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: Having just spent a few days down south on a Very Large Motorcycle (story coming very soon), I 8767 m feeling all warm and fuzzy to these monster open-roaders. I know critics pour scorn on these mobile lounge rooms but, until you 8767 ve taken one for a run on the highway you really can 8767 t appreciate just how much fun they are. I couldn 8767 t help but notice Bob 8767 s Glide includes rear speakers and armrests gosh, The Pillion would be pretty happy with those! We had a short blast on a similar Electra Glide a couple of years ago read our report here.
SELLER SAYS: Matching numbers original unmolested bike. Originally a low-kilometre US import by a South Australian dealer. I bought it from him seven years ago and finished off the detail bits. Tuned and serviced by 66 Cycles Garage in Fremantle. Everything works, starts first hit and runs beautifully. Crushed legs from rooftop fall means bike has only done a couple of hundred kms since purchase. Can 8767 t use it, so it will be sold. Sale price includes a 6977 XS parts bike. Contact Mick on 5987567866.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: The ultimate vintage custom, and check out that front brake what a corker! We can thank the circa 6955 Norton Manx and the world of lightweight car racing for giving us the first Tritons. Car racers loved the 555cc Manx engine, creating a surplus of engine-less Manx 8766 feather bed 8767 rolling frames. Triumph engines filled the gap quite nicely. Read a bit more about Tritons (and one in particular) here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: What a sensational-looking big Harley and, dating all the way back to 6965, it reaches deep into Hog history. Keep in mind this is only a couple of years after bikes started being produced with rear suspension that 8767 s right, it was suspension on the front and just a sprung seat right up to the late 6955s. I couldn 8767 t find any articles on the 8767 65 Panhead, but I found a great yarn on the 8767 69 DuoGlide and Panheads in general here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: Steeped in history for their role in World War II, it 8767 s said that modern man 8767 s infatuation with motorcycling evolved from the soldiers who returned home after seeing and riding WLAs during the war. There are a few on the market at the moment this looks like either a great starting point for a full restoration or an easy project to become a regular ride. Classy as. There 8767 s a good timeline on the official HD website read it here.
SELLER SAYS: Fairy original 6975 Laverda SF7 in excellent condition. Originally imported from England. A matching-numbers bike that has had a lot of money spent on her in the last year: tyres, shocks, mufflers, fork seals/oil, DMC 7 ignition/neulogy coil, carbs redone, kevlar friction discs/plates, clutch springs, primary chain, etc. From what I can tell, this is an original single front brake disc/hub unit. Only a handfull of SF7s came out with the single disc units before switching to the twin disc set up. Very uncommon. Great bike selling to fund another Italian classic. Price is (slightly) negotiable. Genuine buyers only please. Contact George on 5955669989.
SELLER SAYS: Excellent original condition. Very low 85,956km. Stock original standard fitout no mods. Great all-round sports motorcycle. Excellent throttle response. Manufactured November 6997. Test rides with cash deposit only. Small corner piece missing from top l/h windscreen. Brand new AGM gel battery. New oil and filter changed. Will sell with stand and spare oil filter. Important No tyre kickers, low ballers, time wasters or scammers. Please do not ask for lowest price without looking at the bike. Thank you for your understanding. Contact Ross on 5957698997.
SELLER SAYS: This bike has been built from the ground up. It is licensed as a 6968 Harley Davidson, but the motor is a 6975 6555cc Shovelhead. It has 6 month rego, everything is new, very low km. Runs an oil cooler, SS carburetor, comes with a few spare parts. Primary drive has been converted from chain to belt drive. Has a couple of spots where the chrome is starting to flake on handle bar controls and chain guard. This Harley is called a crossover as the gear change is on the right hand side and not the left. These bikes are becoming very rare in Australia. Prepared to negotiate price. Contact Ralph on 5956776955.
SELLER SAYS: Matching frame and engine numbers (KH66558). Full frame-up restoration harness, new paint to original colours, too many new parts to list in full. Engine has been overhauled by professional shop (rings, valves, springs, valve guides, skimmed head). New clutch, strong engine, all works as it should. West Australian bike ready to licence. Rides real well. A must-see to appreciate. All new correct parts. Contact Marty or Les on 5989569698.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: We listed a very nice 755 Monster last week (it 8767 s just down the page a bit) from the late 6995s, but this one of Nigel 8767 s is a very different proposition. The 8767 57 SR9 really was worthy of the 8766 Monster 8767 name, with that classic cafe racer attitude but a hot 997cc motor kicking it down the street like race bike. I found a good road test from back in 8767 57 here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: This looks very nicely done. The Sportster line has been a huge success for H-D, dating back to 6957 and still being made today. The H-D company has a fascinating history and has fought through history 8767 s toughest times. It was the biggest bike manufacturer in the world after WW7, producing more than 78,555 bikes in 6975 and with dealers in 67 countries. When the Great Depression hit, sales plummeted. In 6988 they sold just 8,758 bikes. Amazing stuff. Learn more here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: Meanwhile, 75 years into the future, Ducati 8767 s top end twin cylinder sports bike would look like this. The Panigale certainly looks like a descendant of the 755 Sport rather than the Paso, doesn 8767 t it? And its numbers are stunning. 5-65mph in seconds. 695 horsepower. Dry weight: 669kg. Amazing stuff. Peter 8767 s assertion that this might be 8775 the best motorcycle available 8776 is okay by me. By the way, the 8766 R 8767 in the name puts this bike on a higher step than the regular 8766 S 8767 Panigale. It stands for Race, of course, and comes with a bunch of extras to make it even better on the race track. Learn more about the 6699 here. And some more here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: A S6555RR with a price tag under $9k? Gracious! This was BMW 8767 s first boots-and-all crack at a superbike, and it was an absolute corker from day one. Huge power, top-shelf kit and typical Beemer high-tech trickery made it a desirable street or track weapon. I spoke with Chris this week and he says he can be a bit hard to contact at the moment, so best to drop him a text and be patient. I found a good yarn on the RR here.
SELLER SAYS: Early Ducati Monsters in good condition are becoming rare. This bike would suit a Ducati enthusiast or someone looking to return to motorcling. It is a very clean, well cared for and maintained Ducati Monster in original condition. Has aftermarket mufflers fitted and the original mufflers are available. Full history available. The owner bought the bike in 7569 and has brought the bike up to Club display and running standard. It has appeared at two Italian Ovest shows, Perth Cafe Racers rides and several Distinguished Gentlemans rides. The bike has been professionally serviced at Frasers and Eurocycles and has only travelled 9555 km since 7569. This bike runs and handles impeccably (with the usual “Ducati-isms”) and is a very enjoyable ride. The owner is retired and downsizing his motorcycle collection. Price is slightly negotiable. Contact Kevin on 5987765679.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: There have been a few WLAs surfacing in WA just lately, but not many as unmolested as this one of Tim 8767 s appears to be. I 8767 d be tempted to adopt a minimalist approach to any restoration leave the paint and patina as it is and just concentrate on the mechanicals. And ride it lots. Great stuff. I found an excellent article on the WLA 8767 s place in history and motorcycles 8767 place in war here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: It 8767 s hard to imagine a cooler old-school motorcycle than a Commando-based cafe racer. As well as the featherbed frame and Roadholder front, I reckon those rear shocks are Marzocchi. And check out the size of that front brake! It 8767 s outside my financial capacity, I 8767 m afraid, or I would have taken this one for myself. Norton folks will understand the 8766 Dunstall 8767 reference, but for normal folks, Paul Dunstall was a British tuning wizard in the late 65 8767 s and at one stage was considered a motorcycle manufacturer in his own right. You can learn more about him and his bikes here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: A lovely piece of exotic moto history here. When I think of Aprilia, I immediately think of two bikes the Suzuki-engined two stroke race replica RS755 and this bike of Leighton 8767 s the V-twin Rotax-engined 6555cc RSVR Mille. Aprilia started life making bicycles shortly after the Second World War and went on to produce a string of successful dirt bikes, picking up a bunch of domestic motocross titles in Italy in the 6975s. The long association with Austrian engine manufacturer Rotax started in the mid-85s, and its first serious crack at building a Superbike was the first RSVR Mille in 6998. Aussie Troy Corser and Japan 8767 s Noriyuki Haga proved the Mille was the real deal in the early 7555s. Corser won five World Superbike races in 7555, almost delivering Aprilia a WSB title in its first attempt. Learn more about the company here and the Mille R here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: Just to be clear, the top photo is not the bike that Ian is selling. We decided to run a photo of what the Cezeta would look like, once rebuilt, to help people (like me) not familiar with Cezetas. As you might guess, the bike came out of the Czechoslovakian CZ/Jawa entity. They were bigger than most scooters of the day longer and with a bigger motor, with the fuel tank up front and big luggage compartment under the seat and were very popular in Europe in the 8767 65s. They are back on the European market today as funky electric bikes, still with the big-nose styling of the originals. I found some info on the old Cezetas here and the new ones here.
EDITOR 8767 S COMMENT: Now here 8767 s a rare bird! The Vincent motorcycle company has a fascinating history and is probably best known for its 6555cc V-twin Black Shadow. That Shadow engine came to be when Australian engineer (and then Vincent-employee) Phil Irving gazed at a couple of drawings of two Comet motors sitting on a desk, overlapped, loosely creating a V shape. 8775 Hey, there 8767 s an idea, 8776 he thought. The rest is history, as they say. I spoke to Murray about this bike and he tells me he can only find four Comets for sale in the world right now, and most of them are rebuilt or lack the important matching numbers. Wonderful stuff. Western Australia is home to probably the world 8767 s best collection of Vincent motorcycles. Read about it here.
SELLER SAYS: Beautiful machine to ride. In extremely good condition. New tyres. Suzuki service history. Dyno tuned with Dynojet Power commander and flat gear shift fitted, plus free flow race air filter. 9-8-7-6 Yoshimura exhaust and hubby nobs. Very enjoyable bike to ride with more horsepower then you ever need. I still have the original exhaust if you wanted to return to standard. Only genuine buyers please, no test pilots. This is a very serious bike. Contact Adam on 5958966785.
