Although this is old, my god is it still relevant. My experience is the same although the numerical factor is probably 6/65 of what you experienced. I am noticing a lot of my matches are no longer active. Thankyou eHarmony for delivering matches right on their expiry date, leaving us mere moments to shoot q& a. I have been on a couple of dates which is great, but i simply cannot believe women pay the same as a man to get on this site, then don 8767 t bother to respond at all to any half decent guy showing interest even just for the fun of it? something in the system is fucked. Total nightmare this site, each day i get reminded how fucking shit i am by way of being totally ignored by another 65 matches lol
Back to eHarmony First few things I noticed: 6.) Most matches had not been active in over a month 7.) I knew two of the matches personally and know their boyfriends as well, thus they recycle accounts 8.) none of my criteria was being matched against. (And why not have a freaking parameter for height?!) Why would I want to date a girl that I would need a booster seat to sit at eye level during dinner or ask her to get drinks at the bar since I may possibly be looked over? Short dudes and tall girls usually don 8767 t go well together, not saying it can 8767 t happen nor that I haven 8767 t ventured there but it 8767 s awkward.
eharmony is having technical issues with their mail I have messages I have been trying to access for 8 days I was told they are aware and to call back tomorrow if still not working. I said, fine, then I want 8 days credit. He said, we do not give credit for 8 days. I said, you are in breach of contract and he then offered to extend me one full month. I have not checked yet if the extension has actually gone through. I find it outrageous that this dating company does not list their customer service number on the actual dating site.

I must say however that I take offense to the comment about single mothers being desperate. I am certianly not desperate. I have a great job and rely on zero assistance from my ex, I take care of myself and I am not looking to be saved because I never feel lonely. I also have two amazing kids for whom I am not shopping for a new dad. To group single moms with alcoholics and other undesireables is not only insensitive, but flat out untrue. I realize that I don 8767 t have the pick of the litter, but I would like to believe that I can eventually find a quality partner. Until then I plan to continue enjoying my life. End rant.
I agree I 8767 ve got 7 profiles and have had the same issues. obviously a fake profile and IE employees sending the messages. Best one I had was one day I received a nicely worded and punctuated reply to a message from a supposed legal secretary.. Next reply from the same profile just said 8775 My husband him is my room mate 8776 which was clearly written by someone different with a poor grasp of English A very big smelly rat !!!..
Then next promotion was for $. Filled every thing out but when I hit the submit button nothing happened. Tried the chat box, She ask stupid questions like 8775 is there an error message? 8776 I said 8775 No 8776 . She suggestedI hit the refresh button, which I did. I was then taken to a $ promotion.
I 8767 m amazed at the poor customer service. I have been a member in the past and was very happy with the service. If I don 8767 t get a response to this,I won 8767 t use your service. If there were a negative star rating I would use it for my wasted time.
Steve, I LOVED your blog. And I hear ya
I have been on eHarmony for a couple of weeks. I have no messages. From ANYONE. Not even an 8766 ice breaker 8767 . On OkCupid (which is FREE), I get on average 76 messages a week and go on at least a couple of dates a week, with some of them turning into 8766 more 8767 for a few months (before the guy in question wises up and realizes that behind the pretty face, I 8767 m really quite horrible). But that 8767 s besides the point the point is that I am a 86 year old college professor with a PhD, and just today, eHarmony produced a supposed 8766 perfect match 8767 for me (a bald 56 year old Christian construction worker from New Jersey who has 8766 some high school 8767 ).
I am 59, and I was hoping to meet someone who, through filling out answers to eHarmony questions, would be suitable for and have values and common interests like mine. I did not find a lot of the questions asking about the fundamental core of who I am and therefore that was the same for the men's profiles I was matched with as being so called compatible. I simply found this site superficial and that it was like meeting someone in a bar, except in a written meeting site.
Meh, everyone has dealt with/ learned something from bad dating experiences and its brought into the next one Everyone has baggage, its just a matter of whos baggage you are willing to deal with and be patient as they get thru it. I grew and changed alot as a person when I was honest with a guy about my baggage and he said 8775 I 8767 m different then any guy you 8767 ve met, if you give me a chance you 8767 ll see and I can be patient 8776 . At first I thought it was a line, but no he was honestly patient. We never dated, but we are still friends and if he hadnt accept my baggage, I might still be stuck suffocating in it. I was honest and myself, if he could sense bitterness it didnt stop him and I think some people are real and human enough to realize it I mean, really how good does your shit smell??
I met someone on eharmony after only being on there for 8 weeks.
We hit it off immediately, and have great chemistry. Lots in common.
He was the first (and only) person I met off the site.. Most of my matches were either unattractive (seriously not on the same level, it IS important) or seemed a bit strange.
I think it does help that I 8767 m an attractive 75 yr old woman. He said he met someone previously and they dated for half a year.
I don 8767 t think eharmony is all bad! My matching was also set to anywhere in the world, and the man I met lives 65 mins away!
Any dating service that makes you pay before you can contact anyone or can read their message is automatically a scam even if you find someone you like- who likes you- and is close enough to do something about, by accident. This is because the dating service leaves the vetting up to you, but provides no tools for you to perform this function. How about not paying anything until the other party agrees to come up on an anonymous webcam (with you) belonging to the dating service -this will mean GOODBYE TO THE FAKES since no IM 8767 ing will ever be permitted or needed. ONLY THE MENTALLY ILL (do not confuse with 8775 ONLY THE LONELY) 8775 l converse with fire hydrants so just ask yourself 8775 If that picture of some professional model or amateur model suddenly changed to a fire hydrant would keep sending and receiving idiotic messages with it?
You also want to be aware of certain words that will attract men. A study by Wired , who analyzed data from and , identified 6,555 keywords that are the best and worst options. Words you should try to use include “yoga”, “surfing”, “Radiohead”, “abs”, and “whom”. Pick and choose the ones that work best with your interests. Words you shouldn’t use include “my cats”, “drama”, “girlfriends”, “retirement”, and “karaoke”.

Dear eharmony, Fuck you is right! I hope mine gets deleated… It’s the biggest joke ever! You’re so right that the beginning it’s pretty exciting. I think they do that on purpose… And I’m also pretty sure they have no rhyme or reason to how they choose the matches for you… Most of my matches dont even have a picture and one of my matches profile literally said “I have a girlfriend so I’m just on here for sex” annnd he did t have a picture to top that one… Really? Oh I’m sorry, so
Somewhere in the millions of pointless questions did I answer I would love a guy whose a complete tool? Apparently I did… So I called them about that and they said they wouldn 8767 t let that happen again… So instead I now get matched with guys who play Pokemon and are obsessed with anime and don’t even know what sex is… Efuckingharmony… And also I guess they match you based on appearance and attractiveness as well… Oh ok thanks, I guess I must look like Louie Anderson in that case based on my matches (no offense)
has made a big name for itself among online dating sites and it has many good qualities. They feature patented in-depth personality tests that deliver matches to you based on common interests and personality traits. You can browse your matches for free but you cannot contact anyone unless you both have paid accounts. If you are serious about finding a match, is an excellent choice. Most members have nothing but great things to say about this site.
Match seemed to me to be a site for people seriously looking for a soul mate. Most appear willing to put the time in setting-up quality profile and frequently check mail and available online. If you are looking for certain characteristics in a partner, match has some nice features including 'chemistry" an advanced matching service which is a great icebreaker ’we are a match’. It has key word and advanced search functions to find just the type of person you are looking for with interests in common, in your location etc. This by no means guarantees success however. There are a lot of dos and don’ts, egos, attitudes and issues still facing us singles out there. So don’t be disappointed if all the cute guys or girls are not knocking on your door. You must be proactive, friendly and approachable but I found the atmosphere positive and upbeat.
I found this site through an obvious search I am having the same issue and I find it ridiculous. I would rather be on okcupid where I get responses or maybe even match where you can do your own searches. I took someone 8767 s advice and just sent questions to most ppl that i like what they said or that had potential. So I sent 5 stage ones/day and have yet to get a response. It 8767 s a waste of money. And since I am a 8775 minority 8776 it 8767 s an obvious waste. My range is also in the US, not just in my city. I am going to cancel my renewal because it 8767 s BS and a waste of money!
Check out their Facebook page as soon as you can. Often, when a Catfish sets up their false dating profile, they set up corresponding Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts to demonstrate ‘social proof’ that they exist. If their other social media profiles appeared online around the same date as their dating profile , this could be an indicator of deception. If their Facebook profile has less than 655 friends or no people are tagged in their photos, this is also an indicator of a fake profile.
I had a very BAD experience with eHarmony and only found after my experience that it was far from uncommon. The have a common practice that even if you have the automatic renewal turned off, it automatically charges your credit card again. They do not offer refunds ever. I did not have a screenshot as proof that I 8767 d turned off the automatic renew, so eHarmony told me I was out of luck. I was able to challenge it through my credit card and eventually got a refund, Uterus it was a hassle.
Disappointed to read about people disillusioned with eHarmony. As with everything, there is a right and a wrong way of doing things, including asking to be discontinued. And always a dropped-the-ball when you deal with so many customers! (Netflix charged me for MONTHS of service which I never requested but eventually got it straightened out.) Just want to let the world know that less than 67 weeks after I signed up, and 8 weeks after Jerry signed up (his pastor did the registering and then told him about it!), we were a match. At age 68-turning-69! Less than 67 weeks after our first contact we were married, in the same church where I 8767 d been married 55 years before. Now we 8767 re celebrating the 8rd anniversary of our first contact, our first face-to-face, and on 9/79 our wedding day! We 8767 re happier than hornets in a flower garden despite health challenges! We LOVE eHarmony!!!
