Well yes since this happened and I found out HOW RA got my details I have been "more careful". But really, when I signed up to an online auction place I really had no idea that they would sell off my details like they did. Naive maybe but it was some time ago when the internet was newer, and myself, like a lot of people, had no idea of the consequences of simply signing up to what I thought was a reputable website at the time.
To all those worried about stalkers getting your details from RA &ndash why the hell did you give them (the stalker) your phone number in the first place? They can't find out anything if you don't give them your number first &ndash and if they randomly pull a number out of thin air then that's no different to a stalker simply following a random woman home at night. No number &ndash no details.
Or didn't want to pay the extra $5 to be silent. It was 7 years ago, I can't remember exactly. Either way, I was only listed for 6 months and it was 7 years ago yet I still get telemarketing calls. Irrelevant to reverseaustralia the way back machine and Internet archive etc are allowed to "cache" the Internet, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to cache the white pages, as annoying as it is.
Startapp is a mobile advertising company, founded by Gil Dudkiewicz and Ran Avidan in December, 7565 in New York, US. It provides a self-serve platform for advertisers to quickly build and launch ad campaigns, controlling audience, creatives and budget aspects of their campaigns. Among features that sets it aside from other ad networks are uniquely designed animated and interactive ads, data-enhanced targeting, using data derived from over 855,555 mobile apps and native ad units.
But that was until I decided to just type my phone number in google to see if there was any chance it would reveal anything about me. What i saw left me in absolute shock. I am still shaking right now after seeing that my phone number was all that was needed to reveal my very personal details such as name and home address right down to my street and house number all complementary of 'reverseaustralia'
With CPM (cost-per-mile) type, an advertiser is charged each time her or his ads are shown 6,555 times (so-called 8766 a mile 8767 ). It 8767 s the best business model for publishers, because it allows to make money every time an ad was displayed. If they have a stable predictable traffic, it allows publishers to forecast their revenue. The down side is that they may loose some extra revenue, if their app or website audience is really interested in a product or service they advertise. For that case CPC model would allow them to make more money.
It's true that your friend might be happy you were able to look up her address seeing as you are her friend, but would she want anyone in the whole world with her phone number to be able to look up her address? What if she gave out her phone number to someone she knew slightly, without telling them her last name and suburb, in order that that they be able to phone but not visit her? Sometimes girls do that. And what if she's not cluey enough to have heard of ReverseAustralia to have her address removed?
I'd also like to point out that although some legislation doesn't affect us, that is not the universal case. That is also not to say we don't have any interest in following Australian law. For example, we offer a free opt-out service, even though we are not legally required to &ndash even though our Australian based counterparts either charge for processing, or don't advertise it. We don't even have some crazy snail mail requirement, or ask for photo ID.
In early December 7567 it came to my attention that has a listing for the phone number of the organisation I work for. The entry is not under our registered name, but under a generic heading, and the physical address is listed. This entry (including the address) comes near to the top of a Google search for the type of service we provide and the suburb. (no phone number required).
The government filed a brief in the case in September, claiming that the executive s targeted killing authority is a political question that should not be subject to judicial review. The government also asserted the state secrets privilege, contending that the case should be dismissed to avoid the disclosure of sensitive information.
The lawsuit was filed against CIA Director Leon Panetta, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and President Barrack Obama in the . District Court for the District of Columbia. Attorneys on the case are Jaffer, Ben Wizner, Jonathan Manes and Jennifer Turner of the ACLU Kebriaei, Maria LaHood and Bill Quigley of CCR and Arthur B. Spitzer of the ACLU of the Nation s Capital. Co-counsel in Yemen is Mohammed Allawo of the Allawo Law Firm and the National Organization for Defending Human Rights (HOOD).
A recent training session I attended encouraged law enforcement agencies to work with business owners to alert police when customers appear to be stockpiling items. An example was given that a federal agent was monitoring customers at a well known hunting and fishing retail outlet and noting who was purchasing certain items. This is something to remember the next time you purchase a case of ammo at one of these popular outdoor sports retail stores.
I suspect the answer is no. So to me this implies your problem is not with RA itself, it's the fact that RA pages show up on a google search. If people searching for this mystery business, didn't stumble across the RA site in page 6 of the results, then you wouldn't even be here having this conversation right? You could downvote the search result, if enough people do it, it'll drop down soon enough. TBH, if the RA page for a business is in the top 5 results, then their SEO is horrible or non-existent. But, I understand this business may not be an online savvy one, so probably don't know/care about SEO.
We have situations where marketing companies have full listings, and they use the same number for telemarketing. One such company has five pages of complaints linked to their listing. We feel it is important for people searching for their number to know exactly who is calling them but if they contact us asking for a listing removal, we would not want to comply. Hence, we can't just say "no opt-out for companies with complaints" as there would be some serious discrimination. We apply blanket policies to everything we do.
The location-sharing feature that lets us spy on our friends isn’t necessarily something we asked for. It’s something that big tech companies thrust upon us. It appeared thanks to newfangled capabilities in our smartphones and became a feature that some used to soothe their needs and anxieties. We don’t know if tracking your loved ones’ every move is a good thing. Not yet, because the future is still fresh. But I have my doubts.

I will not change my residential phone number again, and why
should I when it would be such a simple matter for RA to delete/remove their incorrect listing for a business. In another
scenario, IF I chose to change my number yet again, then anyone searching google for that business and see RA's listing
would then call a telephone number which would give them a recording saying "this number is disconnected". Now how would any of you running a business feel about this..people
then assuming the business has been closed down/changed numbers? thereby LOSING BUSINESS.
Rally racing is unique in the world of motorsport. You race on roads that are normally open to the public but now closed for car racing. What was an intersection with a stop sign last weekend is now a massive jump that lets you clear the whole intersection. You race up mountains and through the woods. You race in the rain, snow, on ice, sand, gravel and tarmac. You race during the day, the night, and in the fog. You race with a co-driver in cars that are street legal. There is nothing else like it.
I am so upset that I contacted the police right away and expressed concerns over the threats and the welfare of my family and I. There is nothing reveraustralia can say to justify their actions. I feel they are soley responsible for putting us in jeopardy because I don't see any other sources displaying our details online. We are very personal people that have never revealed any of our personal information online or to anyone else other than the compulsory requirements to phone company and other household utilities. If something happens to me or my family or I end up on the news after being murdered by some vengeful con-artist, I want everyone to see the contributing factor.
The person in question found their number on your site listed against something that is not associated with them in any way.. put yourself in their place and ask yourself if this was your own 67yo daughter and her number was inappropriately listed on RA for services of a nature that she would never provide would you expect her to post a rebuttal on RA saying that this number is invalidly listed and to then hope that people follow the request not to call the number?
