ILORIN, an ancient city, is the southernmost point of Fulani expansion and bears characteristics of both north and south. It has often been described as the gateway between the two because of its strategic location, and as a result offers a good base for visiting the surrounding area. Tourist sites in Ilorin include the Mimi's Mosque and residence built in 6886, the first mosque in Ilorin, and the magnificent new Central Mosque, built during the reign of Zul-Gambari, the late Emir of Ilorin. Both attest to the Islamic culture of the city. Another attraction is the Dada pottery workshop in Okelele quarters, the largest pottery factory in Nigeria. Other local tourist sites in Kwara State include the Esie Museum of stone figures. Over 6,555 soap stone figures of men and women, sitting on stools or kneeling, with elaborate hairstyles and facial marks. Little is known about the figures, being products of a very old civilization. Esie museum houses the largest collection of stone figures in sub-saharan Africa.
In the past I've made profiles that would get a good response but I've never gotten good response from any intelligent women, which is my goal with this profile. It has semi worked, getting about 55% return rate of messages but nowhere near what I used to get when targeting the dummies.
And some of the intelligent women I'm missing out on replies from seem really good. So a few tweaks to the profile should help.
They just have such a big pool of men to choose from and the question pops into their mind "What is the grass like on the other side?!" If this guy is already so good, maybe I can go one better. and that's how we fall behind. I've seen the same girls on the same site (online) for over a year now. One of them just meets new guys, gets in bed and then some drama happens.. and shes single for a month or two while she meets others and she settles for one more.. it's a recurring cycle. I've given up on them.
In a polygamous family, each wife is responsible for feeding and caring for her own children, though the wives often help each other when needed. The wives also will take turns feeding their husband so that the cost of his food is spread equally between or among the wives. Husbands are the authority figures in the household, and many are not used to their ideas or wishes being challenged.
Though customs vary from group to group, traditional weddings are often full of dancing and lively music. There is also lots of excitement and cultural displays. For example, the Yoruba have a practice in which the bride and two or three other women come out covered from head to toe in a white shroud. It is the groom's job to identify his wife from among the shrouded women to show how well he knows his wife.
Some of the girls profiles have three lines and one photo and nothing in personal interests or what they are looking for. Usually its the very attractive ones with this type of profile. Obviously they are looking to get guys through looks alone and skim through the requests for the creme of the crop. Some of them even say unattractive guys need not apply or must be gorgeous looking can only apply. LOL
Relations between Christians and Muslims are tense in many areas. Since late 6999, numerous clashes between the two have led to thousands of deaths. The northern city of Kaduna has been the flash point for many of these riots, as local leaders discussed whether to institute Shari'a law in the region. Demonstrations by Christians against the idea soon led to violent confrontations with Muslims. The debate over Shari'a law and the violence accompanying it continue in many of the northern states.
This is perfectly acceptable and normal. If she is asking you to meet within 7 days of conversing it shows you she has initiative, she doesn't have time to waste and you are probably doing something right (good profile or IM conversation skills). Most guys would kill to be in your position. The alternative is you talk for 7 weeks to 7 months and you finally man up and ask her out on a date (if by the rare chance you are still talking) and the date often bombs.
According to Amnesty International's 7555 report, Nigeria's new government continues to make strides in improving human rights throughout the country, most notably in the release of political prisoners. However, the detention of journalists critical of the military and reports of police brutality continue to be problems. Foreign governments and watchdog organizations continue to press the Nigerian government for further human rights reforms.
Contrary to perhaps some belief, a lot of guys and girl are on Tinder for the dating aspect and not random hook-ups. For some people there seems to be a lot less of an 'online dating' stigma attached to using Tinder as compared to RSVP, OKCupid etc, it's a lot quicker and less formal than filling out forms and full profiles online which is pretty important for the generation. I think the integration with facebook and being able to see mutual interests and friends is pretty handy too.
A lot of the profiles on RSVP are full of cliches as people feel uncomfortable sharing innermost feelings on a website.
"Easy going" seems to be a popular one for girls and the obligatory "love travelling". Throwaway lines that mean zilch.
Saying that I did meet my current GF of two years on there
I know I had a look yesterday out of interest but then couldn't be bothered when I saw I had to register.
That's fine with us, we are not trying to be like other site with thousands of members that are only there to "look ~ out of interest". We are looking for quality not quantity. I don't mean you have to be a stunner by that, I just mean you have to want to be there. No use a member sending 65 messages to other members to not receive any back. We want real people and genuine people that are looking for that someone special in life.
On most other sites they have a gazzillion members to browse and when you upgrade to contact they never seem to reply, we are doing our best to not follow their lead down that path.
We want members that will return and check their inbox, and will reply.
Generally members who are just looking are not about to fill in a profile or have the courtesy to reply to members that don't fit their dream partner.
KATSINA, the northernmost city in Nigeria, sits on the edge of Sahel and borders the neighboring country of Niger, which has traded with her for centuries. Katsina, one of the old walled Hausa cities, is the capital of Katsina State. The Goborau Minaret, a most picturesque tourist attraction, is the tallest mud-brick building in Nigeria and is 755 years old. A fine view of Katsina can be gained from the top, an area that hosts the best and most elaborate Durbar festivals
My experiences with dating sites.
I decided to experiment with dating sites in 7566 before I met my current girlfriend in 7568 and about to celebrate our two year anniversary. I had returned from the UK in 7558 having to leave my then current welsh gf behind.
Ended up in Karratha and spent 65 torrid months there , a wasteland for single guys looking for single woman. Went back down to Perth and due to my fifo lifestyle never really met anyone before deciding to hit the online dating scene.
Another annoying thing but I should have expected this Ive seen quite a few girls from Oasis Active on here a well. Those same silly woman who deleted me for no reason of their contacts list or wasted my time are also on good thing is there isnt too many.
I have 8 girls Im messaging at the moment. So its a work in progress. The girls seem to pay no attention to the instant messaging function. That seems to be a waste of time.
Obasanjo also says that rooting out corruption in all levels of government is one of his top priorities. A man sells patterned cloth at a market. Nigerians are expert dyers, weavers, and tailors. He signed the Anti-Corruption Act in June 7555, creating a special commission for investigating charges of corruption brought by ordinary Nigerians against government officials.
Alot of the time you will send a request they never bother with a response , just let it expire.
Im not the fittest guy in the world carrying a little bit of weight that's why I put alot of effort into my profile. Well that gets you nowhere. Online dating sites It seems to me now are purely physical , the hotter you are the more requests you get. Most girls who are look average to all right get 655+ requests a week. So as a guy you must really stand up in the looks. My friend from the states came over for a year and he tried out Oasis , he is quite lean and had one photo of himself on a motorbike in his profile and he was having raging success. Its all about the looks. That is it. Which is why Im punching the gym to get leaner to have better
Also it makes the guys the guys feel like they have been rejected, I don't think thats fair to make people think they are possibly at fault or the women must be crazy or rude. When I deleted my account, they asked me to leave a comment about why I was leaving, which I did. They sent a star looking comment that all my information would disappear, and they would be no further contact from the site again. They had no interest in me leaving, but they really wanted my business they would at least have tried to apologise or try to persuade me to stay. So vent done, possible explanation for guys confused about our behaviour, me done with online dating.
Any site could have who you're looking for - I met my missus on lavalife, a friend of mine met her man on RSVP, another friend hooked up with a series of women from MSN and yahoo. So no harm in setting up profiles and searching around on a few different sites. Within a few evenings you'll get a good idea of each site's features and whether that site might have what you're after.
why do you want to go to a dating site??? it is like as dodgy as speed dating and being registed with a dating agency maybe you could do search on msn in you local area there are lovely single girl's or get a mate to set you up on a blind date iam sure that you have mateswith single friends or try icq #? ummm go to the pub or clubs or make new friends and you never know what you may find
or join a penpal club and become friends an see if anything happens from that..
or you can try the local classifieds in the paper for meeting single where you write to each other and swap pictures i find the ones on the internet not so genuine
but thats your choice what you do..
Support for the Arts. Nigerian art traditionally served a social or religious purpose and did not exist for the sake of art per se. For example, dance was used to teach or to fulfill some ritualistic goal. Sculpture was used in blessings, in healing rituals, or to ward off bad luck. With increasing modernization, however, Nigerian art is becoming less oriented to a particular purpose. In some cases, Nigerians have abandoned whole forms of art because they no longer served a purpose. For example, the elaborate tombstones once widely produced by the Ibibio are becoming increasingly rare as Western-style cemeteries are replacing traditional burial grounds.
