I am Indian Army soldier While traveling from my village sankeshwar to Belagavi City on 78 May 7567, while on leave, I was charged toll tax. incharge of tool tax say i card is not permissible here. Its apparently very clear that the staff at the toll and ill mannered to deal on the persisting issue. The staff has been misguided by the superiors are not o do not no. It has started becoming embarrassing looking at such issues on a daily basis with so many of over soldier facing such issue there. Its not a matter of money…but the dignity, and the respect, pride to our indian army soldier, but what we do for the nation wearing these uniforms. I would request if you could throw some more light on the issue if possible

hi sir,my father runs a ioc bunk near toll plaza at guilal tumkur chitradurga higway which is 655mtr away from toll evryday he travel minimum 65 to 65 times a day from hiriyur to bunk crossing this IRB toll plaza,so my question is should he pay toll fee evrytym he travells?Is their any exemption for local person who travel frequently?if yes then what is the formality to be followed?

7. Frankly i dont mind in paying up at the tolls. Today i did without creating any arguments and further embarrassing my organization in front of hundred prowling eyes and was happy to be part of nation building exercise. I was never aware that my civilian counterparts are paying so much when they ply on these roads apart from paying those road taxes after purchasing vehicles, income taxes for the nation building and so on.

I am dependent father of a serving army officer,as per notification NHAI/68568/767/CMD-CO/55-56/RTI-66 ensured that exemptions under Indian Toll (Army & Air Force) Act 6956are allowed as per provisions in the act, should get exemption. Act also provide the exemption to the dependent family members of serving members of the forces.
When traveling through the toll gates some of the collectors allow free pass while others despite showing my identity as dependent and copy of notification and the act are adamant to collect tax.
I will be obliged if provided with detailed notification for on the issue.

All serving indian armed forces personnel are exempted from toll tax whether ther are on duty or not including on leave no pass or leave certificate is required.. only identity card is to be produced however paramilitary personnel are exempted only when on duty or coming from or proceeding for duty from their residence.
